Speaking in the Parliament’s public session on Wednesday, Iranian Parliament Speaker Ali Larijani commended President Hassan Rouhani, Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif and Head of the Iranian Atomic Energy Organization Ali Akbar Salehi and the negotiating team for their tremendous efforts in bringing the nuclear negotiations to a good conclusion.
The Iranian senior official rejected claims that sanctions against the Islamic Republic will be removed in phases as part of the conclusion of nuclear talks between Tehran and the 5+1 group of countries, saying such claims are “probably their own wishes” as the text of the conclusion does not indicate this.
Larijani also maintained that such claims are aimed at solving the internal problems of those countries.
“The Islamic Republic’s great wisdom in diplomacy managed to convince the international community about the peaceful nature of Iran's nuclear activities and this is a great achievement in the history of all these disagreements,” he said.
Larijani further noted that today, world powers have accepted Iran's enrichment, research and development program as well as its heavy water program and they have promised to abide by their commitments.
He also urged regional states and the neighboring countries to use this opportunity to increase bilateral and multilateral ties and to create sustainable stability and peace on the basis of will and determination.
